Why routinely update your WordPress plugins

Some of my clients are proactive with web maintenance, and hire me to do their weekly WordPress site backup, plugin updates, broken link checking, and malware scanning. They understand that using the largest self-hosted blogging tool in the world can make for an easy target for the many hackers out there.
Wordfence is yet another WordPress plugin, but not JUST another plugin. It is a great WordPress security tool, which I can’t live without. When it’s installed on a website, it blocks bad login attempts, scans for corrupted files and potential malware, and helps you fix these issues and more. The beauty of Wordfence is also that you can enable it to self-update, so the plugin is always in its latest version, independent of whether the website user remembers to update her plugins.
For more information on why it’s important to update WordPress at all times, read Wordfence’s latest blog post: Safety first!

Be safe, and up-to-date!
